Updates: 10/11/4; 2/5/15; 2/20/15
I welcome any and all rational explanations for the following sequence of events, starting near the 1:42 mark of this clip (first one)
The story board behind Edward Snowden is the perfect cover to unleash the gullibility trial balloon for a completely fabricated CGI character upon an unsuspecting public. A dubiously perpetual hidden location that prevents any public appearance? How convenient! Snowden’s complexion and aspect ratios change dramatically when toggling between his close ups and the shots of the two of them in the same frame, and I’m not talking about simple lighting differences here, his body literally pancakes into itself compared to Brian Williams consistent structure. It is also rather amusing how Snowden waddles around like a penguin at the beginning of the video, presumably a result of the freak “training accident he suffered in the military”, where he broke not one but both of his legs at the same time. That’s quite an absurd bed time fairy tale and more dubious cover for the awkward CGI image.
But again all of the above aside upon being proven wrong I will happily erase this post and leave a permanent message about how wrong I was in this instance, though please act quickly, as in the meantime I will have to sit here and contemplate how Brian Williams, Glenn Greenwald, Laura Poitras, and everyone else involved in this disgusting farce can possibly sleep tonight.
It is entirely possible that the CGI rendering of Snowden is based on a real actor’s face as outlined in the above videos, which will allow for the contingency of a public appearance at some later date when their narrative inevitably loses traction to the fact that what they have shown so far is clearly CGI imagery.
I mean seriously, does this look like a real person to you?
Finally, comparing the first ever clip of Snowden below with the latest Brian Williams special, note the somewhat significant improvements they have made as far as matching the mouth movements to the sound of the speech:
Not even sure what to say about this video, not great quality (which most likely has something to do with the exaggerated mistake) but it turns cartoonish starting at 1:19
And then there is this one which in terms of time stamps is exactly the same clip as the first one from the NBC link above, however the time stamps and hand positions do not match, they have attempted to clean this glitch up and it does look much better, however it’s remants are still there, starts around 1:42 like the NBC link
George Orson Welles – George Orwell 1984, which of course fits the plot of Edward S1m0ne to perfection.
THE WAR OF THE WORLDS: OCTOBER 31st, 1938
…when we did the Martian broadcast, we were fed up with the way in which everything that came over this new magic box, the radio, was being swallowed. People, you know, do suspect what they read in the newspapers and what people tell them, but when the radio came—and I suppose now television—anything that came through that new machine was believed. So in a way our broadcast was an assault on the credibility of that machine, we wanted people to understand that they shouldn’t take any opinion predigested and they shouldn’t swallow everything that came through the tap, whether it was radio or not – Orson Welles
CITIZENFOUR is being co-distributed in the UK by Artificial Eye and BRITDOC Foundation to be released in cinemas from Friday 31 October, 2014 as a Film4 co-production. As the details of the NSA’s programs are revealed Snowden says: “This isn’t science fiction. It’s really happening”.
If you say so…. Rosebud!
It’s instructive to see his evolution from eyeglass wearing nerd to contact lenses and moussed up hair sporting hero of his own thriller. It’s all very Tom Cruise. Even the beautiful girlfriend sets up housekeeping with him in Moscow.
Remember those pesky issues with the glasses noted above? Poof!
The film has been billed as a “real-life thriller” that tells the story of Edward Snowden, the former NSA contractor.
A “real-life” movie indeed:
A second National Security Agency whistleblower exists within the ranks of government intelligence. That bombshell comes toward the end of Citizenfour.
Surely as imaginary as Mr. Edward S1m0ne:
They have really outdone themselves with this particular rendering of CGI Snowden in The New Yorker’s self-titled The Virtual Interview (get it?). This is the most fake I have ever seen “him” look. Go to the 3:30 mark and see for yourself.
I hope all these liars and con artists did a better job in Citizenfour! With high caliber sycophants like Steven Soderbergh on board, we certainly know they are capable of it. Take note of the years these films were released (2000 and 1994).
This just keeps getting better: Snowden gets a dog, names him Rick
